Sir,
میتونم
I am directed to refer to Mr. Fiddes' letter of the 17th ultimo and its enclosures (No. 1119/1911) and to state that the Board of Education have decided to recommend the appointment of Miss Constance Pearce to the Assistant Mistressship which is now vacant in the Education Department of Hong Kong.
The papers which accompany this letter contain an account of Miss Pearce's qualifications and experience. It has been ascertained that she would be willing to sail for Hong Kong at a month's notice.
The Board of Education are in the position to recommend the appointment of Miss Pearce, because they under stand that she has near relatives in Hong Kong with whom she will be able to arrange to reside. llad there not been a
candidate with these advantages available, the Board would probably have had very great difficulty in finding any one willing to accept the appointment on the terms offered, and
they venture to think that if the Government of Hong Kong
are really anxious to recruit suitable Assistant Mistresses
for the Education Department of the Colony in this country,
The Under Secretary
of State,
Colonial Office,.
S.W.
